Castles:

The magnificent Carew Castle has a history spanning 2000 years. Set in a stunning location, overlooking a 23 acre millpond, the castle displays the development from a Norman fortification to an Elizabethan country house.

 

Pembroke Castle. Idyllically set on the banks of the river estuary, this mighty fortress is largely intact, and its endless passages, tunnels and stairways are great fun to explore, plus there are super exhibitions, which tell the tale of its medieval life.

One of the most spectacularly sited Welsh castles is Carreg Cennen, located north of Swansea

 

Crickhowell Castle, also known as Alisby's castle, is a conspicuous feature of the small market town and occupies a vantage point with commanding views along the Usk valley

Gardens:

 

Situated close to the Cleddau Estuary, known locally as the 'hidden waterway', Picton Castle comprises 40 acres of some of the most beautiful woodland gardens and grounds in West Wales.
 

 

 

Bro Meigan situated in the beautiful north Pembrokeshire countryside on the edge of the Pembrokeshire National Park and overlooking the Preseli Hills which are reputedly the source of the Stonehenge Bluestones.

 

 

 

 

 

Dewstow Gardens Imagine discovering a lost garden with tunnels and underground grottoes buried under thousands of tons of soil for over 50 years. That's what happened at Dewstow gardens. Built around 1895 the gardens were buried just after ww11 and rediscovered in 2000.

Spectacularly set in the beautiful Tywi valley of Carmarthenshire, Aberglasney House features one of the finest gardens in Wales. Aberglasney Gardens have been an inspiration to poets since 1477. The story of Aberglasney spans many centuries, but, the house's origins are still shrouded in obscurity.
