We are unable to put all 2008 dates up since they are not available yet - where we don't have 2008 dates we have left the 2007 dates in just to give you general an idea of expected dates.

Bury St Edmunds:

The Christmas Fayre in Bury St Edmunds is 28, 29 and 30 November 2008 - 10am to 7pm. Angel Hill in Bury St Edmunds is transformed into a Victorian style Christmas market with colourful local stalls and old fashioned fairground rides. There are also many stalls be hosted by people from other parts of the world adding new tastes and smells to the fayre. Edinburgh:

 

The Scottish capital celebrates Christmas with its usual aplomb with the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. As well as the traditional German-style stalls, the city plays host to Britain's largest open-air ice rink in Princes Street Gardens. Other highlights include children's entertainment, a Santa Extravaganza, a big wheel and carousel, food and drink specialities and performances by professional skaters, ice hockey matches and even curling competitions.

Here's a few other things happening: These dates for guidance only since the 2008 dates are not yet out but the general celebrations are from 27 November - 25 December 2008. We will update the page when we have final dates.

 

2007 - Thursday 23 November: The lights go on at the Light Night. Gather at 5.15pm in East Princes Street Gardens.
Carols at the Norwegian Advent Carol Concert St. Giles’ Cathedral at 7pm.

2007 Sunday 3 December: Exile Choir get us hopping with their gospel rendition of some favourite carols at the Nativity Carol Service. Gather at 4pm at the foot of the Mound, near the Floral Clock.

2007 - Sunday 10 December: Santas from all over the country run, walk or stumble around Princes Street Gardens at The Great Scottish Santa Run.

On each Thursday in December, Bridge Street hosts the Stratford-upon-Avon Christmas Market. Many of the town centre shops will have late opening until 9pm and free parking can be found in Church Street, Arden Street, Windsor Street and Riverside car parks. Christmas in Stratford is truly magical and this year there will be late night shopping along with Traditional and Continental markets. Lincoln:

Buses - Most buses travelling to Manchester city centre stop at Piccadilly Gardens, St Peter's Square, Cross Street or Shudehill Interchange. From all of these locations the market is within walking distance.

Metrolink - There are Metrolink Stations in St Peter's Square or Piccadilly Gardens, both a short walk away from the markets. ·

Train - Trains to Manchester will arrive at Piccadilly or Victoria Stations, where the Metrolink can be used to get to St Peter's Square or Piccadilly Gardens. Alternatively you can take a short walk to most of our market locations

Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market
This year’s Christmas Market will take place from Thursday 27 November to Sunday 14 December 2008

Opening times:
Sunday - Wednesday: 10 am - 6 pm
Thursday - Saturday: 10 am - 8 pm
There is no entry charge to the Christmas Market

Following the huge success of our first Christmas Market in 2006, with over 126,000 visitors in 10 days, we have decided to increase the duration and the size of the Market. It will now last for 17 days and have approximately 75 chalets, including many serving food and drink.

 

Winchester Cathedral, in partnership with Winchester City Council and Cousins Entertainment is pleased to announce that planning permission has been granted for a seasonal outdoor ice skating rink that will operate in the Cathedral grounds from 27 November 2008 to 4 January 2009. The ice rink will be located in the Inner Close with the Cathedral providing a stunning backdrop. There will be a café immediately behind the ice rink that will sell seasonal refreshments.
