Drumlanrig’s Tower. Well restored fifteenth century
building in Hawick town centre.
In the late 17th
century it played a
part in the religious struggles of the “Killing Times"
before it was transformed into the Duchess of Buccleuch’s town
house. It later became a coaching inn and remained open until 1981.
Following restoration in the 1990s the building now houses an
exhibition of local history, with particular reference to Border reivers
