Information about the hotel

A true sportsman's hotel set in central Scotland, 15 minutes from the Fair City of Perth and close to the A9 north/south road.

Tayside Hotel is just minutes from some of the best salmon fishing on the world famous River Tay; within 50 minutes of 50 top class golf courses including Gleneagles and Carnoustie; and close to world class shooting facilities. All this and a friendly, comfortable environment in a Victorian hotel with good traditional home-cooked food and 14 well-appointed fully en suite rooms. The Tayside Hotel is ideal for your weekend break or family holiday base. Built in 1898 and briefly owned by Stanley Mills, the hotel has provided a haven for many weary travellers and hopeful fishermen. A lounge and public bar offer a wide choice of food and beverages. For quiet contemplation or relaxation there is the lounge/library, which is the ideal place for an afternoon pot of tea or an after-dinner drink. The function room can hold up to 140 people and is used for a variety of purposes, from birthday parties to village celebrations.

    Getting there

     

    Edinburgh is the nearest international airport and is serviced by all major airlines and many of the low cost ones too.
    You can get a bus from Edinburgh Airport to Edinburgh, from where there are good bus and rail links with Perth.
    Travelling times can be quite long as they are not always direct.
    The nearest mainline rail station is Perth, with good links through to the rest of Scotland and the UK.
    Local buses operate frequently from and to Perth from just outside the hotel.
    Taxis can be arranged on request to most destinations, however as they generally have to travel from Perth, they can be costly.
    There are many car hire firms in Scotland and some of the major ones have offices in Perth.
    We are happy to help arrange car hire for you.
    For something a little different, we have a working arrangement with the local BMW dealer, offering everything from a Z4 to an X5 to hire.
