Information about the hotel
Just 200 metres from Paignton beach and only minutes from the town centre, The Cosmopolitan is a contemporary take on the traditional seaside hotel, with stylish modern accommodation and facilities.
The excellent location offers the best of both worlds, with the town centre and the beach both within easy walking distance. The Cosmopolitan is also a great base for visiting some of the local attractions in the surrounding region, such as Paignton’s famous zoo and the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway.
Fully refurbished throughout, all of the rooms are stylish and modern with contemporary comforts and facilities. The bright, clean rooms are comfortable and attractive with luxurious touches in many of the rooms, including in-room saunas and a Japanese-style soaking tub for 2.
The Cosmopolitan combines a great location in the traditional seaside resort of Paignton with stylish contemporary accommodation and facilities.
When treating yourself to that little bit more than usual, why not experience one of our superior rooms? Room 4 offers a sea view and a comfortable sitting area, whilst room one, on the ground floor, offers a Japanese-style soaking tub for 2. New for 2008, we have added a deluxe room (room 2) that combines the standards of the superior rooms with the luxury of your own in-room 2-person infrared sauna.
Paignton is so centrally located in the West Country that business people often stay to take advantage of our specific business facilities, which include Japanese translation, fax and photocopying services and meeting and training rooms. We are able to cater for small board and management meetings. Simply tell us what you need and we will work out a way to help you, using our industry contacts where necessary.
Parking:
There is limited car parking (2 spaces) at The Cosmopolitan and Blue Badge holders take priority.
Unrestricted, free, on-street parking is available between October and April.
Between May and September, parking is limited to one hour between 08:00 and 18:00, and during these months, we recommend the multi-storey car park at the top of Garfield Road, just round the corner, where necessary. There is a 24-hour charge, and a reasonable overnight fee (from 18:00 to 09:00).
However, you can park outside overnight, on the opposite side of the street, between 17:00 and 09:00 the following morning, without restriction or charge, between May and September.
For longer stays, you may wish to purchase a weekly ticket. Visit the Torbay Council website for further details.
A good alternative is a pub car park, which is situated almost opposite us (The Spinning Wheel). There is an additional cost for all day parking, and the car park is usually locked at night.

Deluxe Room
This is the best room in the house!
It is often said that hotel bedrooms are simply somewhere to lay your head but we would like to turn your stay at The Cosmopolitan into an experience. So when we created room 2 we took the quality of furniture and soft furnishings from our superior rooms and combined it with more space, tub chairs and a coffee table. We extended the check-out time exclusively in this room to 11:00 and we will serve breakfast to your room.
However, this still was not enough, so we put a great sauna in the en suite shower room. It is an infrared sauna, so there is no mess. It directs heat directly at your body so it is more effective. It is for 2 people, so you can share it with your significant other, if you like. You choose. more info
