Information about the hotel

Imagine a hotel with a relaxed informality and the highest standards of service. Our elegant Victorian offers en suite standard, executive rooms and junior suites, most enjoying spectacular sea views and superb Turner sunsets.

In the restaurant we serve the finest food from the freshest Kentish ingredients. A new Orangery is the perfect setting for snacks, speciality coffees, in-house pastries and excellent wines. At the Smiths Court the only thing we overlook is the sea. The Smiths Court is an 'elegant Victorian' enjoying a magnificent cliff top location with panoramic views across the Thames estuary. Most famous for the sunsets (the painter JMW Turner described these as the best skies in Europe), John Betjamen also wrote some of his post-war poetry whilst looking at this view, while T.S Elliot found time to write 'Cats'.
