  • Old Blacksmiths Shop, Gretna Green (16 miles) - Over 1000 couples marry here each year, along with those who renew their vows in a romantic blessing over the legendary Anvil. The Blacksmith's Courtyard and Sculpture Garden are surrounded by an array of shops.
  • Hadrians Wall (20 miles) - Hadrian's Wall is the most important monument built by the Romans in Britain. A tourist bus service links Carlisle, Haltwhistle and Hexham with the major wall sites during the summer.
