Set in mature garden grounds, with Loch Ness and Fort Augustus close by, this converted former Scottish farmhouse offers modern facilities with an old world charm.
Guests can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere in front of log fires, beamed ceilings or play a game of pool or table tennis. Loch Ness and Fort Augustus are only 2 miles from Auchterawe Country House, where you'll find shops, pubs and restaurants. The Caledonian Canal with its 5 lock staircase is a central part of Fort Augustus, where guests can watch the leisure boats and ships travel through from the canal into Loch Ness itself. We offer our guests a warm, friendly family welcome. We have double and family en suite rooms, and twin rooms with separate shower room. All of our rooms have mountain views. Guests have the use of the conservatory to admire the Great Glen mountain range beyond. Relax in front of the log fire in the guest TV lounge, where you can help yourselves to tea and coffee, or if you are feeling more energetic, have a game of pool, table tennis or chess in our games room with beamed ceiling and a wood burning stove. Mountain bike hire is available for you to explore many of the hill and mountain tracks, or, simply just walk along the riverside walks which are just outside your door. This former Scottish farmhouse has had many different uses in the past. It has been used as a farmhouse, forestry offices and more recently as a summer school for children in the borders of Scotland. In spite of all these different uses, it still retains many of its original features. |
