Set in Hertfordshire, between Hitchin and Stevenage, this 3-star country house hotel offers comfortable, homely accommodation shared between the main house, the stable courtyard and milk parlour.

Dating back to 1450, the residence is set in 4 acres of gardens, with unspoiled views over the countryside. The hotel has worked hard over the past 15 years to achieve a reputation as one of the foremost hotels and restaurants in Hertfordshire, boasting excellent transport links; it is situated only 5 minutes from the A1(M) and 20 minutes from the M1 and M25. This area of Hertfordshire is an ideal location for taking long walks, exploring the East and for accessing London for shopping and theatre trips (just 30 minutes by train). In addition to this, it is an outstanding venue suitable for both business and private functions. A family-run hotel, the house has been in the family since the turn of the century. Its aim is to provide traditional hospitality which is rarely found nowadays. Redcoats can provide an extensive range of business options to enhance your business meetings. Catering for up to 40 people. The Victorian Room: A well-lit room, with a west facing bay window. This, plus a single window, allows a lovely breeze on a warm summer day. In the winter the coal fire is a very welcome sight. This room will hold 15 -18 easily around a boardroom table. There are plenty of power points available. The Oak: This panelled and beamed room, cool in the summer & cosy in the winter, with its large inglenook fireplace, is ideal for the smaller meeting. The central table seats 10-12 people. A small garden serves as a great place for coffee break. In the summer the main garden is often used as a break area. The hotel’s Wi-Fi system covers both rooms and most of the hotel and gardens. This, as well as flip charts, paper and OHP, is complimentary. Just about any equipment you need can be hired at short notice; the hotel has a Dell Laptop and printer that we will set up in your room for that urgent download- the efficient staff will be happy to help out with a short letter, email or fax for you. The hotel is also registered for civil weddings for up to 80 people. For those wishing to marry in comfortable and pleasant surroundings Redcoats will provide a personalised and unforgettable day. They will gladly assist in the organisation from the flowers and the erection of marquees on the lawn to make your wedding reception the happy event you want it to be. Exclusive use can be arranged, subject to time of year. Room service and a laundry facility are also available.
