This privately owned and very popular Victorian guest house offers Scottish hospitality just one mile from the heart of the city, close to all major attractions.

Hosts Lizzie and Gary are both originally from Edinburgh, and can share a wealth of information with their guests. Experience the delights of staying in a traditional Victorian house with original features. Please be aware there is no lift, and rooms are located on the first and second floors.

Local Attractions

  • Rosslyn Chapel. (1 miles) - If you read 'The Davinci Code' you will certainly want to visit this unique chapel. It speaks for itself, no words can describe it.
  • Jazz Festival Book festival and Arts Festival (2 miles) - Jazz festival is so popular runs along side the Arts and Book Festivals starting mid July ending 3rd September with a spectacular fireworks display
  • Edinburgh Festival and Tattoo (2 miles) - Final weekend of the Festival ends 3rd September with a spectacular fireworks display same evening, worth being there
  • Glasgow (40 miles) - Glasgow is only 40 minutes by train from Edinburgh. Good for shopping and is worth a half day visit.

Getting there

 

Kingsway Guest House is just over a mile from the very heart of Edinburgh city centre. By Bus:
From the Airport:
The Airlink bus leaves directly from outside the terminal building and the journey to the city centre takes approximately 25 minutes.
Get off the bus mid way along Princes Street (you will see the Castle to your right).
Catch the bus to Kingsway as below. To Kingsway Guest House (from the shop side of Princes Street):
Take any of the following buses to Kingsway - 3, 7, 8, 29, 31, 37 or 49.
The bus will turn right at the end of Princes Street and travel up 'The Bridges' - we are just a mile straight up this road.
The road name changes many times, at Minto Street, get off the bus as you see The Minto Hotel on your left - East Mayfield is the next road on the left at the traffic lights. By Train:
Leave Waverley train station and walk to the shop side of Princes Street.
Catch the bus to Kingsway as above. If you prefer, there are also taxi ranks outside both the airport and Waverley train station.
