- Brecon Mountain Railway (3 miles) - The Brecon Mountain Railway runs from Pant-y-Scallog station to Pontsticill halt.The Pontsticill station overlooks the beautiful Pontsticill resevoir and lake.On theb to Dolygaer on the edge of the Pentywn Resevoir.
- Dan yr Ogof Caves (15 miles) - Europes largest underground cave complex.Hugely popular.
- Millenium Stadium,Cardiff Arms Park. (24 miles) - Wales world famous Rugby stadium,now called the Millenium Stadium.Hosting,apart from Rugby Internationals,pop concerts,speedway and cycling,plus many other sporting events - FA.Cup Final etc.
Getting there
By Road:
From London and the South East:
Leave the m4 Westbound at junction 32 and take the a470 North signposted to Merthyr Tydfil.
Leave the dual carriageway at the Rhydycar roundabout, driving past the One2One call centre to the next roundabout, left alongside the river Taff.
Through first & second set of traffic lights, to third set and left following brown tourist signs for Tregenna Hotel.
From The Midlands and the North:
From the m5 join the m50 to South Wales which eventually becomes the a40.
Follow the a40 to Monmouth and pass through the tunnels there.
Take the a465 to Merthyr Tydfil until reaching the exit for Merthyr Tydfil - Heritage Town (brown tourist sign).
Straight over roundabout to traffic lights, onto next set of lights and straight on following brown tourist signs for Tregenna Hotel.
By Rail:
The nearest railway station is at Merthyr Tydfil, with the nearest mainline station being at Cardiff.
By Air:
Cardiff and Bristol airports are equidistant to the hotel and easily accessible via the M4 by following the road directions above.
