Nestling among cedars, fountains and ponds the hotel offers all the amenities that guests would expect of a 5 star hotel The 'Spa' at The Bath Spa offers the latest in health and beauty facilities.

The elegant Georgian façade of The Bath Spa Hotel can only hint at the warmth, style, comfort and attentive service you will receive during your stay. The bedrooms are elegantly decorated, the bathrooms are luxuriously appointed in mahogany and marble. Guests are entitled to complimentary use of The Spa, our Health and Fitness Club. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, outdoor hydrotherapy pool, thermal suite, gymnasium, beauty treatment rooms and a relaxation room. Close to the Roman Baths, Pump Room and the new Thermae Bath Spa, it is far enough from the bustle of the city to be a perfect retreat. We recommend that any Health & Beauty treatments are booked prior to arrival to avoid disappointment. Children under the age of 16 may only use the swimming pool in The Spa - other facilities are not available for their use. We very much look forward to welcoming you to our hotel.

  • Roman Baths & Pump Rooms (1 miles) - A visit to the famous Roman Baths are a must when visiting the city. These Baths were used between 1st - 5th century, when people bathed in the naturally hot spring waters. After a visit to the Baths, take in tea at The Pump Rooms above the Temple.
  • Bath Abbey (1 miles) - This famous Abbey is where the 1st King of England was crowned. It was built from 1499.

Getting there

 

The hotel is situated on the south-eastern side of Bath centre, above and behind Sydney Gardens. By Car:
From Bristol:
- After the dual carriageway, take the Lower Bristol Road (A36) into the city, through 2 sets of traffic lights. - Follow the one-way system and the signs for the A36. - Weave under the railway, around the back of the station and pass the Menzies Hotel on your left. - At the next set of traffic lights, proceed ahead under the railway bridge, go straight over the next roundabout and then turn right into Sydney Place (by the Holburne Museum). - The entrance to The Bath Spa Hotel is 180 metres (200 yards) up the hill on the right hand side. From London:
- Exit the M4 at junction 18 and take the A46 to Bath, approximately 13 km (8 miles) until the major roundabout. - At the roundabout turn right, joining the A4 and follow the signs for 'City Centre'. - After 1.6 km (one mile), at the junction of the A36 and the traffic lights, turn left following the signs for the A36. - Follow the road over Cleveland Bridge and past the Fire Station. - At the traffic lights turn right and then take the next left, after the Holburne Museum, into Sydney Place. - The entrance to the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel is 180 metres (200 yards) up the hill on the right hand side. By Air:
Bristol International Airport has excellent regional and European flights and also regular flights to New York.
There is a helicopter landing pad near the hotel at Lansdown for which advance permission is required. Bristol International Airport - 35 km (22 miles). Heathrow International - 160 km (100 miles). Birmingham International - 145 km (90 miles). Gatwick - 233 km (145 miles). By Rail:
Bath Spa station is about 1.6 km (one mile) from the hotel.
The service for London (75 minutes), Reading, Swindon, Bristol and South Wales is excellent, with trains at least hourly.
There is a good service to Birmingham and the North via Bristol.

CANCELLATION POLICY: null COMMENTS: All spa treatments need to be booked prior to arrival to ensure availability. Please contact the hotel direct, using the contact information provided on your booking confirmation email. Children can use the swimming pool between 09:00 and 18:00, if accompanied by an adult. They cannot use the other spa facilities. Hotel residents may use the spa from 12:00 (noon) on the day of arrival until 11:00 (check-out) on the day of departure. Should you wish to extend your use of the spa, a day pass can be purchased at a reduced rate. Gentlemen are required to wear jackets in the Vellore at the weekends. PETS: one dog is allowed upon request and it's 25 GBP per night.
