The Bedford Swan Hotel is a delightful 18th century hotel located in the centre of Bedford, offering a Roman-style spa and pool.
Only a few miles from Luton Airport, the hotel is also only an hour's drive from the university towns of Oxford, Cambridge. Central London is only 40 minutes by train.
This elegant 4-star hotel, built in 1794 for the 5th Duke of Bedford, is one of the most distinctive hotels in the town, overlooking the River Ouse.

Getting there
By Car:
From Birmingham:
- Follow the M6 to the M1 and continue south to junction 13.
- From the M1 (junction 13), follow the A421 to Bedford, then the A6 and signs to the town centre.
- Once you have crossed the River Ouse, the hotel is immediately on your right.
- Follow the one-way system round the square and turn left down Embankment.
From the A1:
- Follow the A428 to Bedford. Upon reaching the town, turn left at the traffic lights signposted for M1 south.
- Go over the roundabout, then exit at the 1st right down Embankment.
From Cambridge:
- Leave Cambridge on the A1303 and join the A428 towards St. Neots.
- Continue on the A428 until the A1.
- Turn south on the A1 and at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit and continue on the A428.
- At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit and continue into the town.
- At the traffic lights, turn left, signposted M1 south.
- Continue straight over at the next roundabout and then turn right down Embankment.
